ARANSAS PASS— A man who police believe to be a a dangerous gang member was arrested Tuesday after local police and federal agents executed a search warrant on the man’s home.
33 year old Martin Cantu was arrested during execution of the warrant on Wednesday.
Aransas Pass police say that Cantu is a convicted felon and known associate of a criminal gang.
Police said that they had received information about illegal drugs being sold in and around Aransas Pass which lead to a deeper investigation, collaborating with members of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. That investigation led authorities to Cantu.
Police say that found two guns along with bags of what they suspect are crystal meth, and marijuana. Police also found drug paraphernalia and an unspecified amount of money.
Authorities also said that a second person also was arrested but didn’t release the charge or the person’s identity.
Cantu was booked into Nueces County Jail Tuesday on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver meth.
