Charges Dropped In Schlitterbahn Waterpark Murder Case

Kansas City, Kansas–A judge in Kansas has just dropped the second-degree murder charges against Schlitterbahn owner Jeff Henry and designer John Schooley. The judge also dismissed an involuntary manslaughter charge against operations manager Tyler Miles.

Wyandotte County Judge Robert Burns found Friday that state prosecutors showed grand jurors inadmissible evidence in the case which stems back to the decapitation death of 10-year-old boy back in 2017.

Prosecutors were alleging that the owners cut corners and maintenance projects led to 10 year old Caleb Schwab’s death. Caleb’s father is Scott Schwab, a state lawmaker who’s now Kansas secretary of state.

Schlitterbahn is expected to release a statement shortly.

This is a developing story.
