Texas History for February 24

Today is February 24, 2017 and we are taking a look at what happened in Texas history today.

On this day in 1885, Admiral Chester Nimitz was born in Fredericksburg, TX. He was a leader for the Allied forces in the Pacific during World War II.

Today also marks the second day of the siege of the Alamo in San Antonio. The battle last until March 6, 1836.

And on February 24, 2015 A Texas jury found Eddie Ray Routh guilty in the 2013 shooting deaths of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield. Routh is serving life without parole.
